About Me
I’m Becca, the face behind Silver Birch Flowers. I am a studio and events florist, part time Textiles teacher, mum of two energetic children and wannabe aerialist.
Silver Birch Flowers began in 2022 when I was looking for something new to focus my energies and creativity on after my youngest child headed off to school.
Knowing that the best work comes from combining passion and skill, floristry felt like a natural choice for me. I am happiest when I am outdoors and have always looked to the natural world for inspiration in my design work. In my free time I can often be found out walking in the beautiful countryside around Stroud or pottering about in my garden.
I had previously worked in a florist as a teenager and created the flowers for my own wedding. The time felt right for taking things more seriously.
After completing a career change floristry course, taking subsequent courses, and doing LOTS of practice and experimentation, Silver Birch Flowers was born!
My Signature Style
My signature design style is a delicately wild celebration of nature. I allow the natural colours, textures, shapes and quirks of the flowers that I work with inform my designs - creating arrangements which feel effortlessly romantic and free spirited. Creativity is at the heart of what I do and I love nothing better than spending time planning and designing florals to delight my customers.
My Experience
I love the energy that comes with creating an event. I have worked in events for many years both as a waitress and most recently running a front of house team. I have a detailed understanding of how events work and put this to good use when designing, preparing and setting up floral designs that complement the space and enhance the guest experience.
I also have a degree in Fashion Design and have been teaching Textiles for over a decade. This has given me an in-depth understanding of colour and texture and the skills to turn creative ideas into a beautiful reality.
